»Arbitrational Investment Protection within the European Union. The Implications of the Achmea Judgment of the ECJ«: The »Achmea«-judgment of the European Court of Justice had a substantial impact on investment arbitration proceedings as well as on corresponding annulment and recognition/enforcement proceedings within the European Union. Moreover, it has laid the foundations for the »Agreement for the termination of Bilateral Investment Treaties between the Member States of the European Union«. The present work analyses the reasoning of the Court and explores the far-reaching difficulties that follow from the judgment.
