Beschreibung

This topical CD proceeding compiles a number of the key papers presented at the 8th International Symposium on Crystallization in Glasses and Liquids, helping to bridge the gap between the scientific understanding of nucelation and growth in glasses and the various applications of glass-ceramics and other crystalline materials.

Portrait

Mark Davis has a background in the earth sciences and received his PhD in geology from Yale University. His graduate and post-graduate research focused on the effects of water and thermal history on the structural relaxation and crystallization kinetics in model glass-forming systems. Since 1990, Mark has been employed by SCHOTT North America, Inc., where his work focuses on research and development relating to current and future glass-ceramic materials, as well as relevant characterization methods. He is a member of The American Ceramic Society and the American Geophysical Union.
