This thesis examines the legal protection of an individual in Germany's extradition proceedings with third states. The extradition treaties with the USA only contain limited grounds for refusal. This leads to a conflict of extradition obligations to the USA and the individual rights of the person who is to be extradited. In favor of the EU's constitutional rights the author drafts a ground for refusal that should be included in extradition treaties of the EU and third states.
Sandra Petry studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Von 2016 bis 2017 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Kriminalwissenschaften der WWU Münster (Prof. Dr. Bettina Weißer). Von 2017 bis 2020 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht an der Universität zu Köln (Prof. Dr. Bettina Weißer) und wurde dort 2020 promoviert. Inzwischen ist sie Rechtsreferendarin beim Landgericht Düsseldorf.
