Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption

Bryan Stevenson may indeed be America's Mandela, the one who fought judges, prosecutors and police for decades on behalf of those poor and black people or both. He is an accomplished lawyer, social justice activist, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, and a resident professor at New York University Law School. After graduating from law school, he returned to the deep south to represent and defend the poor, prisoners, and convicts. In the last thirty years he has approached people who have been wrongly convicted and sentenced to death, "This closeness has taught me some basic humble truths, especially this vital lesson: 'We are far greater than our worst deeds ever.'"
