"... I opened the door and entered the forestry office. The office was clean and tidy. On the stove, letting out a thin stream of steam from the nozzle and whistling maliciously, a kettle stood, spreading the aroma of forest herbs and flowers throughout the office.
The technical technician and fireman Galina Zhurkova, having done a tidy in the office, was about to leave. She informed me that from the central office of the leshoz no telephone messages or news were sent to me. Having said goodbye to me and wishing me a good day, she went out.
The lack of news for me was already good news: a high fire hazard was established in the region and we could at any moment get a command to collect "alarming backpacks".
I sat down wearily on a chair. The working day has not yet begun, but I already felt some kind of internal fatigue and tension. The events of recent days, as a surprise, made a big mess in my plans, and I needed to relax a bit in order to think things over and "bring them in line". And for this I had to solve a production issue with foresters, which could not have arisen if ... "
