Parpart is Emeritus Professor and former Lester Pearson Chair in International Development at Dalhousie University, Canada; and Adjunct Research Professor in the Sociology and Anthropology Department at Carleton University, Canada, the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies Department at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and in the School of International Development and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston, USA. She specializes in gender analysis, class implications, and the importance of thinking about both gender and class with a global perspective.
Kate Seaman is Assistant Director of the Bahá'í Chair for World Peace at the University of Maryland, USA. Her research interests include the concept of state responsibility, United Nations peacekeeping operations, global security governance, the ethics of inter- national interventions, and the development of the responsibility to protect.
