Jan Aart Scholte is Chair of Global Transformations and Governance Challenges at Leiden University, Netherlands, and Co-Director of the Centre for Global Cooperation Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. His research covers globalization, governing global affairs, civil society in global politics, global democracy, legitimacy in global governance, and Internet governance.
